Primitive Methodist Church

Haughton Green Rd, Haughton Green
This church was situated on the east side of Haughton Green Rd and it stood on the corner of Henry St. It was built in 1856 and it was the second Methodist church in Haughton Green. There were no other places of worship in Haughton Green until St Mary's Church opened in 1876.

In addition to the church, there were also Primitive Methodist Sunday and day schools. The day school closed in 1871 following the death of the headmaster, Howarth Schofield, aged 63 years, but the Sunday school remained open until well into the 20th century.

The last service to be held in the church was in 1969 and the building was demolished in 1971.
